1. Scope & Age Requirement
The App is restricted to users 16 years and older. These standards apply to all user-generated content, profiles, avatars, messages (text and media), reports, metadata signals, and any other activity on the platform.
Version 2.0.0 launches as a text-only open beta. Images, GIFs, audio, video, documents, executables, and arbitrary attachments are rejected.
Everyone who meets the age requirement must be treated with dignity across religion, nationality, race, ethnicity, caste, disability, sex, gender, sexual orientation, age, and every other protected characteristic. Respectful cultural, civic, and faith discussion is allowed; threats, dehumanization, hateful exclusion, and targeted harassment are stopped.
One universal halal product policy applies equally to Muslim and non-Muslim members without asking for or inferring anyone's religion. Romantic or sexual matching and solicitation, pornography, gambling and paid chance promotion, intoxicant or prohibited-goods trade, predatory interest-bearing lending, and religious coercion are stopped. Respectful interfaith, education, prevention, news, and recovery discussion remains welcome. Q Chat has no dating or romantic-use path at any age.
2. Definitions
- CSAM (Child Sexual Abuse Material): Any visual depiction of sexually explicit conduct involving a minor (person under 18).
- CSAE (Child Sexual Exploitation): Any conduct that exploits a minor for sexual purposes, including grooming, solicitation, and sextortion.
3. Prohibited Activities
The following are strictly prohibited on Q Chat:
- Creating, possessing, distributing, or soliciting CSAM in any form.
- Grooming or sexual solicitation of minors.
- Sexualizing minors through text, images, avatars, or profile content.
- Requesting, offering, or facilitating sexual acts or content involving anyone under 18.
- Misrepresenting one's age for the purpose of engaging with minors in a sexual context.
- Adult pornography, nudity, sexting, sexual-service solicitation, and sexually explicit relationship funnels.
- Gambling, betting, lotteries, casino or wager promotion, loot boxes, and paid chance mechanics.
- Offering intoxicants, recreational drugs, tobacco, pork-derived goods, or predatory interest-bearing loans.
- Forced conversion, religious coercion, or unequal treatment based on belief.
4. Reporting Violations
If you encounter suspected CSAM/CSAE on the platform, please take the following steps:
- Stop viewing the content immediately.
- Use in-app reporting tools to flag the user or content.
- Email us at support@qiutechnologies.com with as much detail as possible, including usernames, room IDs, and approximate timestamps.
5. Our Response
Upon receiving a report or detecting a potential violation, we will:
- Route the report into a private safety queue. A receipt confirms storage only, not completed review or enforcement.
- Review the reported content or account, including plaintext evidence only when the reporter explicitly chooses to attach it.
- Immediately suspend the account and remove content upon confirmation.
- Preserve evidence as required by law.
- Cooperate with and report to law enforcement authorities as legally required.
For non-CSAM conduct, enforcement is proportionate: healthy communication continues, users nearing a boundary receive a specific non-graphic warning and guidance, prohibited content is blocked before delivery, and repeated or severe violations trigger cooldowns, suspension, or human review. Reports and appeals remain available without Q Coin cost.
6. Safety Systems
- Outgoing beta text receives automated moderation through a temporary Supabase Edge function and on-device checks before encryption. Received text is checked again on-device. Automated checks may miss harmful content, so report and block tools remain essential.
- Beta messages use a temporary Supabase relay with ciphertext storage and a server-readable room key. This is not end-to-end encrypted.
- Media uploads are disabled in the text-only beta. Thorn, Hive, Gemini, and other external safety-vendor processing are not enabled.
- Suspected CSAM images are not sent to Gemini, another LLM, or a general-purpose image model.
- Testing and provider validation use provider-approved test or sandbox material and metadata-only flows. Never use real CSAM fixtures.
- Reports, appeals, safety notices, blocks, identity enforcement, bans, and CSAM/CSAE handling never cost Q Coins.
7. Enforcement
- CSAM/CSAE violations result in immediate account termination without prior notice.
- We may impose device-level or network-level restrictions to prevent re-registration.
- Terminated accounts are not eligible for appeal or reinstatement for CSAM/CSAE violations.
8. Appeals
Users who believe their account was suspended in error for non-CSAM violations may appeal by contacting support@qiutechnologies.com. Confirmed CSAM/CSAE suspensions are permanent and not subject to appeal.
