Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Q Chat: Connect, Help, Belong (Package ID: com.q.qchat), including version 2.0.0 and later releases and any associated services provided by Qiu Technologies LLC ("Company," "we," "us," or "our"), collectively the "App."

1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using the App you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

2. Eligibility

You must be 16 years or older to use the App. You affirm that you are legally permitted to use the App in your jurisdiction. Accounts aged 16–17 receive stricter safety protections; no age, verification, or payment tier creates a romantic-use exception.

Q Chat is designed for friendship, communities, business connections, and local buy/sell conversations. It is not a dating or romantic-matching service. It is also not an emergency service and does not provide medical, legal, financial, or professional advice.

Version 2.0.0 begins as a text-only open beta with four fixed intent rooms. Media uploads, direct matching, posts, purchases, Q Coin spending, subscriptions, and audio/video calls are unavailable in this beta.

3. Your Account

• You are responsible for your account and for maintaining the security of your credentials and device.
• You agree to provide accurate information and keep it up to date.
• Your pseudonymous username, referral code, and account rewards remain tied to your account and may not be sold, transferred, or used to impersonate another person.
• You may delete your account at any time via in-app settings or by contacting us. See our account deletion instructions.

4. License & Acceptable Use

We grant you a personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the App for its intended purpose.

In using the App, you agree that you will not:

• Violate any law or the rights of others.
• Harass, threaten, dox, or incite hate or violence.
• Attack, dehumanize, exclude, or discriminate against people based on religion, nationality, race, ethnicity, caste, disability, sex, gender, sexual orientation, age, or any other protected characteristic. Respectful discussion across differences is welcome.
• Send spam, scams, or solicitations for illegal services.
• Attempt to bypass security or integrity checks, interfere with the App, or probe our systems.
• Upload or share content that infringes intellectual property rights.
• Upload images, GIFs, audio, video, documents, executables, or arbitrary attachments in the text-only open beta.
• Share pornography, nudity, sexting, sexual solicitations or services, or sexually explicit content involving any person.
• Promote gambling, betting, lotteries, casinos, wagers, loot boxes, or paid chance mechanics.
• Offer or promote intoxicants, recreational drugs, tobacco, pork-derived products, prohibited sexual commerce, or predatory interest-bearing lending.
• Coerce religion, threaten forced conversion, or harass someone for being Muslim, non-Muslim, or of any belief.
• Share sexually explicit content involving minors, grooming, or any form of CSAM/CSAE (see our Published Standards).
• Attempt to exploit, reverse-engineer, or artificially manipulate any virtual currency or reward system within the App.

These universal halal product rules apply equally to Muslim and non-Muslim members. We do not ask for or infer religion to enforce them. Respectful interfaith, educational, journalistic, prevention, and recovery discussions remain allowed. Dating, romantic matching, and romantic solicitation are prohibited for every member and every intent.

5. Your Content

You retain ownership of the content you submit through the App. You grant us a limited license to host, store, transmit, and display that content as necessary to operate the App and enforce our policies. We may remove or restrict content and accounts that violate these Terms.

Beta messages use a temporary Supabase relay. Devices encrypt message bodies before relay storage, but Q Chat and Supabase can access the server-readable room key; this beta is not end-to-end encrypted. Relay messages normally expire after about 24 hours. Leaving a room revokes future access for that device but cannot erase copies already cached elsewhere. Membership has no automatic expiry during this beta.

6. Virtual Currency & In-App Purchases

Later or full releases may feature a virtual currency system called Q Coins. Q Coins and purchases are unavailable in the text-only open beta. When offered, the following terms apply:

6.1 General

• Q Coins have no monetary value, have no cashout, cannot be withdrawn, exchanged for cash, or transferred to other users.
• Usage rates (e.g., chats per coin) are determined by our servers and may change at any time.
• Q Coins never use gambling, wagering, a prize pool, loot boxes, or another paid chance mechanic.
• Reports, appeals, safety notices, blocks, identity enforcement, bans, and CSAM/CSAE handling never cost Q Coins.

6.2 Earning Q Coins

• You may earn Q Coins at no charge through daily check-ins. Each reward is deterministic under the displayed streak schedule; it is not random or chance-based.
• You may also earn disclosed, deterministic rewards through activated referrals, referral milestones, upheld reviewed reports, quality posts, and healthy hosted rooms.
• We do not offer Q Coins or other rewards for store ratings or reviews. Leaving a review is optional and does not affect your access or benefits.
• Earned Q Coins are non-transferable. Unclaimed offers may expire when their disclosed claim period ends.

6.3 Purchasing Q Coins

Additional Q Coins may be purchased through Google Play Billing. Currently available bundles include 50, 120, 250, 520, and 1,100 Q Coins.

• All purchases are processed and fulfilled by Google Play.
• Prices are set by Google Play for your region and may vary.
• Purchases are consumable one-time transactions — once credited, they are not automatically refunded.

6.4 One-Time Passes

• Optional Flow, Signal, and Creator passes are one-time consumable purchases with clearly displayed effects and durations. They are not subscriptions and do not auto-renew.
• Pass effects may include extra free messages per room, additional daily drops or boosted match placement, higher media allowances, or room-hosting tools, as shown before purchase.
• A pass begins when the verified purchase is granted. A later purchase in the same pass family may begin after the current pass expires.
• No pass removes safety checks, age protections, moderation, the no-dating rule, or other eligibility requirements.

6.5 Refunds

• By completing a purchase you authorize the charge to your Google Play payment method.
• Q Coins are non-refundable once consumed. Refund requests for eligible unconsumed purchases or passes must be submitted through Google Play's refund process and are subject to Google Play's policies and applicable law.
• We reserve the right to modify bundle availability, amounts, or usage rates at any time.
• If a purchase is interrupted or not delivered, use in-app recovery options or contact us at support@qiutechnologies.com.

6.6 Account Termination, Q Coins, and Passes

If your account is suspended or terminated for violating these Terms, any remaining Q Coin balance and active-pass benefits may be forfeited without refund, except where applicable law requires otherwise.

7. Referrals and Contribution Rewards

• A referred account may claim one valid referral code during the displayed claim window and before activation. Self-referrals, duplicate claims, automated accounts, deceptive invitations, and reward manipulation are prohibited.
• The referrer earns the disclosed activation reward only after the referred member completes the required genuine activity. Milestone rewards are granted once per disclosed milestone.
• Referral leaderboards are pseudonymous and opt-in. They provide no cash prize and do not change the non-transferable, no-cashout nature of Q Coins.
• Contribution rewards are granted only when the server confirms the disclosed eligibility rule. We may withhold or reverse rewards obtained through fraud, abuse, collusion, spam, or policy violations.
• You are responsible for the people and channels with whom you choose to share an invite link or share card. Do not send unsolicited bulk messages or misrepresent Q Chat.

8. Safety & Moderation

• We use technical safeguards and anti-abuse measures to protect users and the App.
• Outgoing beta text receives temporary Supabase Edge moderation and on-device checks before encryption; received text is checked again on-device. These checks reduce risk but may miss harmful content.
• Long-pressing a received message exposes separate report and block actions. Plaintext report evidence is off by default and is sent only when you choose to include it.
• A report receipt confirms private storage only, not that a reviewer has already acted. We may warn, limit, suspend, or terminate accounts after review.
• Media uploads are disabled in the text-only beta. Thorn, Hive, Gemini, and other external safety-vendor processing are not enabled for this beta.
• We respond to user reports and may take actions including warnings, feature limits, suspension, retention of safety records, or termination.
• CSAM/CSAE violations result in immediate account termination and reports to competent authorities. See our Published Standards.

9. Third-Party Services

The beta integrates with Supabase for authentication, database, relay, reporting, and Edge moderation; Google for Google Sign-In and Play distribution; and Firebase for enabled app services. Your use of these services is also subject to their applicable terms and privacy policies.

10. Local Listings and Member Interactions

Q Chat may help members discover business contacts, requests, and local buy/sell listings and may route a connection into chat. Unless we expressly state otherwise, Qiu Technologies LLC is not a party to agreements between members, does not possess or inspect listed goods, and does not guarantee identity, quality, legality, payment, delivery, or outcome. Use reasonable care, follow local law, and report suspected scams or prohibited listings.

11. Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of the App, including text, graphics, logos, icons, images, and software, are the property of Qiu Technologies LLC and are protected by applicable copyright and other intellectual property laws. No part of the App may be reproduced, distributed, or transmitted without our prior written consent.

12. Disclaimers

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation. Q Coin balances are maintained on a best-effort basis; in the event of a system error we will make reasonable efforts to restore accurate balances but cannot guarantee it in all circumstances.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Qiu Technologies LLC is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data or profits, arising from or related to your use of the App, including but not limited to loss of Q Coins due to account termination, technical errors, or service interruptions.

14. Indemnity

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold Qiu Technologies LLC harmless from claims arising from your use of the App or violation of these Terms.

15. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access at any time for violations of these Terms or applicable law. Upon termination, your Q Coin balances and accrued rewards are forfeited. You may stop using the App at any time.

16. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Mexico, United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be resolved by the competent courts located in the State of New Mexico, unless applicable law provides otherwise.

17. Changes

We may update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via in-app notice or by updating the effective date above. Continued use after updates take effect constitutes acceptance.
